This
large Sherman brooch and earrings set is amazing! The
colors of the crystal stones are orange or light amber
and sunshine yellow and they are set in a gold tone
metal (likely gold plate). All of the stones are bright
and new looking. None are dark or dead and they sparkle
and shine much more beautifully than in the photos.
The
brooch is unique in that it is so big and that it is
composed of 3 figural flowers with some added sprays
of rhinestones which round off the shape nicely. The
orange or amber stones seem to graduate to darker shades
depending on the way you look at it in the light. Please
note that Sherman used high quality Swarovski crystals
in all their work. The brooch is signed "Sherman"
on the back on a rectangle plate indicating that this
piece is circa 1950's. It measures 2.75" at the
widest point by 2.75" long.
The
matching earrings are equally stunning. They measure
almost 1.75" long by 0.75" at the widest point.
They are clip-ons and are set in a gold tone metal,
most likely gold plate on rhodium. The earrings are
not signed but obviously part of the set and by the
same maker.
This
set is in excellent condition with the very slightest
wear to the gold tone that is not detectable when worn.
