5. Art
Glass and Special Effect Stones:
Although many designers used these stones it is one additional
thing to look for in identifying D&E Jewelry. The center
stone used in this peacock brooch is a special effect stone
by Swarovski. Click for more

6.
Other Elements Of Elster and Delizza's Jewelry:
Other distinguishing characteristics are painted glass cabochons,
molded glass cabochons, "Easter egg" cabochons,
art glass stones, brass leaves, filigree balls and a particular
style of rivet. An example of an art glass stone used by D&E
is shown below.
To further complicate
the issue of identifying D&E jewelry, Frank Delizza has
said that his company also used the following elements at
times:
-
Flat
bracelets consisting of rhinestone chain that was welded together.
- Pinback
styles also included the "V" shape and "bar"
shape that were added on separately to the brooch and were not
welded on.
- Dog-tooth
settings were once believed to guarantee that a piece was NOT
by D&E however Frank has confirmed that they were used by
his company on occasion.
- Small pins
and necklaces were produced when fashions changed. D&E jewelry
has been said to all be big and flashy when in fact, they are
not.
