This
is a highly unusual piece to anyone who doesn't know
of Elzac. Those that know of the company
will recognize the design immediately. This
item can be seen on page
199 of Carla and Roberto Brunialti's book, "A
Tribute to America" and was patented by
designer Elliot Handler in 1943 with the patent number
135,101. It was advertised with the name "Bonnet
Head" and is composed of a copper face on a
wavy lucite base. It is unsigned.
In
good condition. Light wear to the lucite and copper.
This item has been professionally cleaned to prevent
further wear. The back may appear to have verdigris
in the picture but it is just due to the color of
the lucite making the wear on the back appear green.
