This
style of handmade lampworked glass bead is know as originating
in Italy. This strand was likely brought back as a souvenir
in the 50's.
Each
amber colored bead is handmade, including the spacers
which seem to have a glow about them. The larger rectangle
shaped beads are decorated with flowers and squiggles.
These beads have a great amount of sparkle due to the
addition of copper filings in the glass. This is known
as aventurina.
The
clasp is a brass screw type barrel clasp and each bead
is strung together with brass wire which shows some
wear from age.
